Thank you for considering Oncology Alliance for your hematology/oncology care. A visit to one of our offices is designed to provide you and your loved ones with excellent quality service in a warm, convenient and friendly environment. The goal of our caring staff is to ensure your comfort throughout your entire visit. We understand that you may feel anxious about this visit. We want you to feel right at home in our office, from the minute you walk through the door to the completion of your treatment. We take that commitment seriously.

All appointments should be scheduled. This can happen by calling the office where you would like to be seen. At the time you schedule your first appointment, we can mail a packet to you with specific directions and information needed for the visit.

Your first visit to the office will last from one to three hours. During your visit, we collect information concerning your medical history so that we can better care for you. We will ask about your past medical problems, your family history and information about the medications that you are taking. Most patients have blood work drawn prior to seeing their physician. Some laboratory tests are run in our office and results are available to your physician immediately. Other tests might take a little longer and results will be provided to you at a follow-up visit.

Most patients are referred by their physician for consultations. We work hard to provide referring physicians with a comprehensive summary following the first visit and status reports periodically after that.

Our physicians and staff make every effort to see that your appointment takes place at the scheduled time. However, given the nature of an oncology practice, sometimes delays may occur during the course of the day. We recognize that your time and that of your family is valuable. If your appointment is inordinately delayed, we will give you the opportunity to reschedule, if medically appropriate. If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, please call the office as soon as possible to reschedule.

Because of health risks, we ask that when you visit our office, other arrangements be made for children. Your consideration of our other patient's health and privacy as well as your cooperation help us to provide the best and safest health care for all of our patients.

If you have difficulty understanding English, please let us know at the time you schedule your appointment. We will try to make every effort to have a translator available without an additional charge.

We look forward to providing your care. We are here to serve you and your family and to answer any questions that you might have. If there is anything that we can do to make your experience a better one, please let us know.
