The roots of Oncology Alliance go back to the early 1970’s when Drs. Filmanowicz, Geimer and Dubner started practice in Milwaukee. They formed our predecessor company, Hematology Associates in 1975. Some treatments were done in the office but Most chemotherapy at the time was given in the hospital.

In the early 1990’s medicine and especially oncology was changing. Most chemotherapy could now be given in an outpatient setting. Hematology Associates had grown to seven physicians and they were seeing patients at several hospitals. These doctors wanted to improve the way oncology and hematology services were provided. To accomplish this, they formed a new company. In 1992, Oncology of Wisconsin began treated patients at an office in the St. Joseph’s Hospital Professional Office Building. In subsequent years, offices were opened in West Bend and Glendale.

In 1994, three oncologists at St. Luke’s Hospital formed Community Oncology. The following year, Community Oncology merged with Oncology of Wisconsin making it the major provider of oncology and hematology services in the Milwaukee area. More offices were opened in Kenosha, Franklin, Racine, Burlington, and at Columbia Hospital.

In 2003, radiation and diagnostic imaging services were added at our New Mayfair Road facility. Our named changed to Oncology Alliance to reflect the diversified services we now provided. Additional offices were opened in Kenosha, Mequon, Waukesha, and Menomonee Falls Community Memorial Hospital.

Today, Oncology Alliance is one of the largest independent oncology practices in the United States. In addition to hematology, medical oncology and radiation oncology, we offer diagnostic, social work, familial cancer, clinical, research, nutrition, and other support services in an integrated and caring environment.
